Our journey began with a deep love for craft beer and spirits. Wherever we’ve traveled, we’ve always sought out local breweries and distilleries—not just for the drinks, but for the stories, passion, and community behind them. Raised on the prairies and surrounded by farms, we've always felt a strong connection to the land and the farmers who steward it. Grist Malt Company sprouted from a desire to support hard-working farmers and become part of the vibrant craft beverage industry we admire so much. Today, we strive to supply premium malts that reflect our passion and our commitment to empowering brewers and distillers to craft unforgettable experiences.

About Us

Grist Malt is a family-run malt company dedicated to supplying premium malts to craft breweries and distilleries across Alberta.  Our malts are crafted in collaboration with Masters of Malt, using carefully selected barley and wheat grown in the world's finest growing regions.  Each malt is designed to deliver consistent performance, rich flavor, and exceptional quality.

Sunrise Pale

Our classic 2-Row base malt, built to deliver clean, consistent performance across all beer styles

Daybreak Pils

A bright, low-color base malt crafted from premium 2-Row barley grown on the Canadian prairies.

Sunset Pale

A special base malt made from premium 2-row barley and moderately kilned to develop a warm, toasty character with a pronounced grainy depth.


Frosted Wheat

A winter wheat kilned to a light golden hue, it imparts soft, doughy, bread-like flavors and contributes protein to enhance head retention, body, and mouthfeel.

FAQ's

What areas do you serve?
Currently we are only shipping across Alberta.  We are working on expanding to Western Canada, so stay tuned for updates!  
Do you provide a malt analysis?
Grist Malt will email you a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) when your malt is delivered.  You can also contact us if you need a CoA for a specific order you've received.
I don't own a business, can I order malt?

Absolutely!  Please contact us to place an order.

Do you sell malt in bulk?

At this time we are only offering malt in 25kg bags.
